The armchair Cite is one of Prouve's early furniture designs, completed in 1931 for the Cite Universitaire in Nancy.
The distinctive runners made of painted sheet steel, accentuated by the leather strap armrests give the Cite a dynamic aesthetic; the design remains fresh after many decades.
