The Compas Table is a further example of Jean Prouv?'s brilliance as a designer. Around 1950, the French engineer developed a base frame, formally reminiscent of a set of compasses, or in French ? le compas ?. The Compas illustrates the vocabulary of Jean Prouv?'s architectural steel structures and went into series production, a characteristic of almost all the objects created by the pioneer of prefabricated elements.
Legs are formed sheet steel, with tubular steel stretcher all with black lacquer finish. Top is cream HPL laminate on MDF with black HPL laminate edges. |
